Adding an as compute

Adding an to R‑Cloud as compute enables you to create data movers in your own .

Procedure

  1. In the Compute dialog box, click the AWS tab, and then click New New.

  2. Only if you are adding compute at the subscription level. Select one or more protection sets to which you want to add the compute .

  3. Enter the ID, and, optionally, a display name for the , and then click Add.

  4. Click Create IAM Role. The AWS Management Console opens.

    Important  You must be signed in to the AWS Management Console with the that you are adding to R‑Cloud. If you are already signed in to the AWS Management Console with a different account when you create the IAM roles, the creation fails.

  5. In the AWS Management Console, on the Quick create stack page, confirm the capabilities required by R‑Cloud by clicking I acknowledge that AWS CloudFormation might create IAM resources with custom names, and then click Create stack.

  6. Return to the R‑Cloud web user interface, and then click Save.

The is added to the compute list.

Note  If you do not complete the IAM role creation step in the AWS Management Console or if you enter an incorrect ID, adding an as compute to R‑Cloud is suspended and the status of the compute is Preparing. If this happens, remove the account, and then add it to R‑Cloud again.

You can later do the following:

  • Edit any of the existing s (click Edit Edit and make the required modifications).

  • Delete the s that you do not need anymore (click Delete Delete). Keep in mind that deleting the from R‑Cloud does not delete any IAM resources that were created in the .
