Backing up data

R-Cloud enables you to back up your iManage Cloud data securely and efficiently. HYCU for iManage Cloud will back up your library’s workspaces, folders, documents, and their respective profiles and ACLs. The policies are applied at a library level which means that the libraries may be assigned unique policies if required.

Limitations

  • The backups do not include the documents that are located in iManage Trash Bin.

  • The backups do not include tabs, shortcuts, journals, or OCR.

iManage Cloud is a dynamic system. Therefore, the changes may be taking place while a backup is running. These are the rules for handling such changes:

  • The restore point timestamp reflects the time at which the module has completed compiling metadata for all the objects that will be backed up. After this point, the module will begin downloading the documents to be backed up.

  • If a document is changed between the restore point timestamp and the time it is downloaded, the backup will reflect all the changes up until the time the document was downloaded. Any subsequent changes will be captured during the next backup.

  • If an object is deleted between the restore point timestamp and the time a download is attempted, the backup will not include this object.

  • Any objects that are added after the restore point timestamp will not be included in the backup. They will be included during the next backup.

If the backup procedure fails for an object, it will be retried several times. If the backup procedure is unsuccessful after several retries, the backup will skip the object and continue. A warning will be reported in the logs. The module will attempt to back up these objects again during the next backup.

Backing up SaaS application data

Limitation

Only backup data can be stored to the automatically created targets (and not copies of backup data or archive data).

Procedure

  1. Select the SaaS applications and/or resources that you want to back up.

Note  If you want to narrow down the list of displayed SaaS applications, use the filtering options as described in Filtering and sorting data.

  2. Click Set Policy Set Policy. The Set Policy dialog box opens.
  3. From the list of available policies, select the preferred policy.

  4. Click Assign to assign the policy to the selected SaaS applications and/or resources.

After you assign a policy to a SaaS application, a backup task starts immediately. Subsequent backups are scheduled according to the values defined in the policy.

If required, you can also perform a manual backup of individual SaaS applications and/or resources at any time. For details, see Performing manual backups.
